The Unforgettable Balsamic Barbecue Beans
Beans – Navy, Great Northern or your choice
Unforgettable Balsamic Barbecue Sauce – mild or combination of mild & spicy
Soak 1 pound of beans covered in water overnight, or boil them in water for a couple of minutes & let them stand for an hour.
Cook the beans uncovered for aproximately 45 minutes – (bring water to boil then turn it down to just below bubbling).
Drain beans in colander & return to stovetop.
Add 1 bottle of BBQ sauce or until beans are covered & bring to low simmer.
Low simmer for about 1 hour, stirring occasionally taking care not to ‘mush’ the beans. Add more sauce or water as needed.
Let stand to cool…refrigerate…”tastes better as the days go by”
Shelf life: 1 week refrigerated; 6 months frozen
